Fashion Faces Not everyone has the peculiar talent for combining colors, materials and lines into a different and outstanding whole. The Out of the Closet (OOTC) Tribe includes the unique fashion personalities of the following:
Ellen, Chief, Owner
Her Look: challenges and changes prevailing notions of fashion. Favorite Designers: Yohji Yamamoto, Balenciaga, Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier
Fashion icons endure the test of time. With her sharp short tresses, slim build and fashionably forward style, Ellen is a fashion icon in Anchorage. What she wears is not only a style, but also a distinct technique!
Nichole, Assistant Chief & Buyer
Her Look: sassy, saucy, va-va-voom sexy… a veritable slave to fashion! Favorite Designers: Dolce & Gabbana, Missoni, Marc Jacobs, Manolo Blahnik
Nichole knows the female body and dresses to accentuate her fabulous figure. She is great at selecting clothes for women of all body types, slim or heavy, and she understands how to display the female figure with finesse and refinement.
Paula, Quality Control Consultant & Marketing Director
Her Look: a celebration of smooth evolution, elegance and class. Favorite Designers: Jil Sander, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta
This woman defines class! Paula could have made fortune on book rights alone, but chose never to tell her story. She always looks good doing it, whether out in the sophisticated designs of Oscar de la Renta or the smooth style of Balenciaga. Never has a woman evolved so many times in one lifetime and made it look so effortless!
Karina, Muse and Music Director
Her Look: mad-crazy-divine-fashion-funk. Favorite Designers: “my sister,” FLY London, Harlot
Not influenced by fashion trends, Karina has entirely new ideas on how to make a woman look feminine! She possesses her own sense of edgy style and flair, and is the very definition of mad-crazy-divine-fashion-funk in Anchorage!
Allison, Sales & Sports Her Look: Let There Be Light Favorite Designers: Diane Von Furstenberg, Chloé, Burberry Catherine Malandrino
Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion fades, only style remains the same”. With a playful spirit, Allison’s sprightly style lightens but doesn't detract. She adores fashion but stays true to her own unique but classic vision. She will comb the store to help customers find that special something that perfectly reflects their personality!
Shea, Brown-Eyed Girl Her Look: Bohémien Rhapsody Favorite Designers: Jane Mayle, Lanvin, Balenciaga
Bohémien, of French origin, is defined as unconventional style; rhapsody means enthusiastic expression. For this urban hipster, bohemian and rhapsody inextricably go together just the Eiffel Tower and Sacré-Coeur go with Paris Her arty, chic aesthetic à la mode draws in stylish bohemians in droves. Ooh la la!
Taylor, Model Citizen Her Look: Bringing you the truth in the form of fashion Favorite Designers: Chloé, Zac Posen, Alexander McQueen
She sets her own rules and follows her own trends. Taylor is a daily dose of “model” behavior. Recently rocking the runway in a local fashion show, she is simply a complication of vogue interests, tastes and inclinations. If the words “simply” and “complication” seem at odds with each other, they are. She projects her own vision of style characteristic, adornment and way of life at any given time.
Aviana, Dancing Diva Her Look: Fashion Addict Favorite Designers: Save the Queen, Cynthia Steffe, Dolce & Gabbana
Drawing from a well of unconventional, Aviana fashion technique doesn't understand the word "conformity" or "compromise". Her dazzling wardrobe is more suitable for a gallery opening than for the day to day. Not only does she flash a mean piece of couture, she is an artiste heading to The Big Apple!
Canine Fashion Faces Our canine friends are the very best, and we dress them accordingly. Out of the Closet embraces style and design for the fashion-minded dog!
Ziggy, Security
His Look: where Plato and Prada meet. His Favorite Designers: Karl Doggerfeld, Barc Jacobs, Emilio Poochi, BJ’s Bow WOW Knits
Plato and Prada meet in Ziggy’s personal style. He likes vintage and quirky, but possesses a compelling interest in the history and style of great dog-design houses like Kennel, Ruff Lauren, and Calvin Canine. Ziggy enjoys traveling to New York, San Francisco and Phoenix observing how fashion shows itself in the canine world... and like Plato believes “friends have all things in common."
Cricket, Store Greeter Her Look: Ready, Set, Cricket! Favorite Designers: B J (Of Course!), Calvin Canine, Zac Pawsen
In a fairly literal translation from its French and Latin origins, the word fashion describes forming the shape of an item. Over the centuries, it has acquired a specific association with the design, making, and wearing of clothing. Cricket’s style sleuths go above and beyond to bring the latest in canine design, art and fashion to light. Cricket loves the 80’s and rocks a side ponytail! She believes that less is more.
